Do you have a jewelers saw just sitting in a drawer because it’s too hard to use?  Come to this class and you’ll learn to love your jeweler’s saw! We will go over how to load the saw blade, proper techniques for sawing metal, and tips and tricks to make sawing your favorite thing! You will leave class with a finished pendant.

Intro to Metal: Color on Metal

In this class, we will discuss different ways to add color to your metal jewelry. You will get a chance to work with a long acting patina, Liver of Sulfur patina and alcohol inks. I’ll show you how to prepare your metal and how to finish it. You will leave the class with a finished pendant!

Weaving 101

Take a break and explore tapestry weaving. You will learn to warp a simple loom, plain weave, create pile or fringe and remove the weaving from the loom and finish it.  Each student will have 2 small wooden looms (approx. 3” x 2 ¾”) to make wall hangings, necklaces or ornaments and a cardboard loom to experiment with.

Day of Drawing Workshop

Teacher:  Kim Stone
Ages: 15- Adult

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Fee:  $60 ($65 non-members)
Begin by brushing up on basic drawing skills and progress to value studies in your favorite sketchbook. By the end of the session you will have completed larger drawings on tinted paper of a still life, draped fabric and a figure drawing or portrait. Mediums will be graphite and white conte pencils or charcoal and white pastel pencils.

Along with a bag lunch, class members should bring a small 18 x18” drawing board with handle, a small set of hard and soft graphite pencils, eraser and a 9 x 12” sketchbook. An additional supply list will be available upon registration.

CALC Refund Policy for Art Classes
Carlisle Arts Learning Center does not provide a cash refund for cancellation of art classes, unless the class is cancelled by CALC. In order to request a withdrawal from a class or workshop, students must contact CALC at least 5 days before the first class meeting. Students who request a withdrawal at least 5 days prior to the first meeting will receive a 90% tuition class credit. Students withdrawing fewer than 5 days from the first day of class are not eligible for a class credit.
Please note we are unable to provide make-up opportunities, prorate or provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts.
