Materials: 268 yards worsted weight yarn, set of four US 6 / 4.0 mm DPN’s, stitch markers, darning needle, + Laule’a pattern by cabin four which can be downloaded here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/laulea)
Prerequisite:  Basic knitting skills, comfortable using DPN’s (double point needles)

Designed to help first time sock knitters understand the basics of top down sock knitting. We’ll work with worsted weight yarn which makes wonderful warm house or boot sock & works up quicker and easier than traditional sock weight or fingering weight yarn. Learn basic top down sock pattern which includes picking up stitches, turning a heel, and how to graft a toe seam using Kitchener Stitch!

Create a personal sketchbook from top to bottom.  In the first session you will marble fabric for a book cover and paper for end page. We will also create some small folded books. In the second session you will put the book together, learning to sew folios and glue end pages.

Eucalyptus Magic

Explore bundle dyeing with eucalyptus. In the first class we’ll wrap Eucalyptus leaves with a wool gauze scarf, create a few other experimental bundles and discuss dyeing procedures. A week later we’ll meet again to open our bundles and reveal the magic.

STOP! Don't Throw That Away- Upcycled, Sustainable Fashion

You’ve decided you want to be more eco-conscious with your fashion choices and transition away from fast fashion but where do you start? Should you get rid of everything in your closet and start over? What should you do with all the fast fashion garments currently in your closet? 

Creating a sustainable closet may sound overwhelming at first, but it’s not as intimidating as it may seems. To get you started, this class will teach you how to take your wardrobe basics and maximize them to create different looks. On the last day of class, all participants will star in their own fashion show to unleash their inner diva!

Fun with FiBear Arts, Adult Camp

Think your kids are having all the fun and wish you could go to camp again? Join us for this 1-day workshop for adults! We’ll squeeze in the highlights of the kids week including ice dyeing, textile printing, playing with pom poms & more! 

We will take an hour break for lunch. Bring your own or visit one of Carlisle’s many wonderful restaurants.

CALC Refund Policy for Art Classes
Carlisle Arts Learning Center does not provide a cash refund for cancellation of art classes, unless the class is cancelled by CALC. In order to request a withdrawal from a class or workshop, students must contact CALC at least 5 days before the first class meeting. Students who request a withdrawal at least 5 days prior to the first meeting will receive a 90% tuition class credit. Students withdrawing fewer than 5 days from the first day of class are not eligible for a class credit.
Please note we are unable to provide make-up opportunities, prorate or provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts.
